Well, Seth and I have been trying to figure out the best schedule for us. He is a morning, and by morning I mean early morning, person. I am a night person. If we function this way then we have hardly any time when we are both awake and the children aren't. So, I started going to bed earlier but then I wasn't getting some necessary things done that must be done when children sleep (i.e. ironing, going through toys or clothes, etc). So, we decided to make me a morning person! One day down and I like it already. We got up about 4:30am. Seth was able to read and got a shower. About 5am I started ironing and Seth read and read some to me and we got to talk all while I ironed!
We are kind of stuck in our room if we don't want the kids up because the dogs are in our room and get loud once we leave or if they leave the room! We have a coffee pot in our room and will probably get a mini refrigerator! It is our little parent hang out! I'm excited to have this time to talk with Seth or get things done or just read on my own.
Luke was in our room a little after 6am and Claire followed closely behind. The great news was I was ready for the day and most the ironing had been done. I haven't had this dread all day of when would I gake care of things. I know I have an hour or so in the morning to knock out something and then everything else will fall into place!
Thankful for:
--my wonderful, encouraging husband who doesn't mind helping me get up early because I need help!
--the sunshine
--having the Bible read to me by my husband while I iron -- sure seems to fit the biblical model for both of us!
This made me smile. Okay, well, the whole 4:30 AM things made me cringe---but the rest of it, and the blessing of doing hard things made me smile.
ReplyDeleteMy motto lately has been, "We can do hard things". This seems to fit with that---4:30 certainly seems like a hard thing!
it is hard! i'm such a night owl but that doesn't really fit for us right now so I'm working on changing! it has been nice have the peaceful morning and not trying to do so much first thing with the kids awake and dogs whining, etc.
